I think if it is public record it should be made public.
Some of us pay taxes to provide services to ourselves, such as police etc...some of that should be used to give us access to public records. Being able to access that info should save on some paper and time and that could hopefully be used to put it on the net. I really disagree that the state should recover costs, as I am paying for those costs, to the best of my knowledge with my tax dollars, be it property tax here locally, or sales tax.
