Even if the information is searchable and queryable?

The information must be searchable for it to be of any real use to practicioners. If the concern is about people combing the Internet for data on someone's open case, one solution is to eliminate the searchability of the information, or maybe eliminate Internet access completely. However, I would argue that, given the current and potential value of keeping such information available over the Internet, the better solution would be to restrict such searchable data to those with the greatest current need for it, i.e., lawyers admitted to practice before a given court. A password system would be simple to implement, using the name the lawyer has as registered with the Supreme Court of Texas as a username, and their bar card number as the password. If a restriction to searchable data is necessary, this would allow those with the greatest need for the information (and often needed at odd hours on nights and weekends) to have access to such information on a 24/7/365 basis.
