As a service to the bench, bar and public, this web site includes the full text of "slip opinions" of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas at Dallas. While opinions are usually available in text form in the full-text searchable databases within minutes of issuance (Click here for the most recently transmitted opinions listing), it is the "stated" goal of this site that opinions of the Court will be posted within 24 hours of issuance.
Please note that "slip opinions" are the "as issued" opinions of the court that have not yet been enhanced and edited for publication in the reporter services and may not yet be final as to the issuing court. In addition to clerical corrections, opinions on this site are subject to modification and rehearing until final, and Court of Appeals opinions are subject to a grant of review by the Texas Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals. Modifications to previously posted opinions will appear as separate documents on the day modifications are issued.
